This recognition is especially meaningful because this year Zandi K was honored in the Compensation and Benefits category. This category celebrates salons that are creating exceptional career paths, compensation structures, benefits, leadership opportunities, and long-term growth for their teams.
For us, this award is not just about numbers. It is about people.
At Zandi K, we have built a salon culture focused on helping stylists create real careers, earn strong incomes, grow into leadership, and feel supported every step of the way. We believe talented service providers deserve the opportunity to build six-figure careers while maintaining balance, education, and long-term growth.
Owner Nicki Wenz has now received this recognition multiple times throughout her 18 years as a salon owner, but this year feels especially special because it comes during a major season of growth.
Recently, Nicki acquired three beloved Aveda salons under the Centre Salon name in Arvada, Westminster, and Tiffany Plaza in Denver. With more than 60 new team members joining almost overnight, the focus is now on bringing the same strong culture, leadership, compensation opportunities, and client experience that made Zandi K successful to all four locations.
A year and a half ago, Nicki attended a business conference where she heard entrepreneur Cody Sanchez speak about “buying back Main Street” and how the fastest way to scale is by acquiring multiple businesses. That day, Nicki wrote down one goal:
“10 salons in 10 years.”
Since then, she has gone from operating one salon generating approximately $1.6 million annually to four salons with combined annual revenue of more than $4 million.
And this is only the beginning.
Nicki is currently in conversations with three other salon owners about future acquisitions and growth opportunities. After spending the last several years building systems, leadership structures, compensation plans, and scalable processes, she believes there is no limit to what this business can become.
The long-term vision is to create not only incredible salons, but also incredible workplaces where people can grow, earn, lead, and build meaningful careers.
Our hope is that next year, the Centre Salons in Arvada, Westminster, and Tiffany Plaza will also be recognized on the SALON TODAY 200 list.
